Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Chasey ("we", "us") is a Chrome extension that drafts follow-up email suggestions inside Gmail. This page explains what data we access, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What Chasey accesses in your Gmail account

Chasey does not use the Gmail API and does not request any Gmail read, compose, or send scopes. When you sign in with Google, Chasey only requests your basic profile identity (openid and userinfo.email) so we know which account is using the extension — this does not give Chasey any access to your mailbox.

Instead, Chasey's browser extension reads the open Gmail thread directly from the Gmail page as rendered in your browser (via a content script), the same way any browser extension can read text that's visibly on a page you're viewing. Chasey cannot see email you haven't opened, and cannot read, send, or modify anything through Google's servers directly.

Any text you highlight and mark "Exclude from Chasey" is stripped out before any reading or storing happens, permanently, even in threads Chasey has already processed.

What we do with thread content

When you click the Chasey icon, the open thread's text (as read from the page, minus anything excluded) plus your current voice samples are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a single draft. This content is used only to produce that one draft, is not used to train Anthropic's models under our account settings, and is not stored by us afterward.

When you use the Chasey hotkey (⌘⇧L / Ctrl+Shift+L) instead, your own sent message from that thread is saved as one of up to three rolling "voice samples" stored to help match your tone in future drafts. Adding a fourth sample drops the oldest one, so at most three are ever kept. This is the only action that stores thread content; clicking the icon to generate a draft does not.

What we store

Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We never see or store your card details — Lemon Squeezy handles that entirely. We only receive a webhook telling us whether your subscription is active, which we use to unlock the paid plan for your account email.

What we never do

Revoking access

You can revoke Chasey's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. To request deletion of your usage record or stored voice samples from our database, email us at anurag@getchasey.com.

Children's privacy

Chasey is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18.
